RACKET
CUSTOMISATION
We are racket specialists and offer many services to restore, refresh or fix your Tennis, Padel, Badminton and Squash rackets.
RE-GRIP SERVICE
FROM £3.99 (Depending on the price of the grip)
We will happily re-grip your racket with an over grip or replacement grip whilst you wait. All we ask is that you purchase the grip from our store.
WHY RE-GRIP? Over time, a tennis racket grip wears down, becoming smooth and slippery. A fresh grip provides better traction, which allows you to hold the racket more securely. This leads to improved control over your shots and prevents the racket from slipping in your hand during intense play.
GRIP ENLARGEMENT
£15
Enlarging the grip on a tennis racket is often done for several important reasons, particularly related to player comfort, injury prevention, and performance.
A grip that is too small can cause a player to hold the racket more tightly, leading to increased muscle tension in the hand, wrist, and forearm. Enlarging the grip helps to relax your grip and reduces fatigue during longer matches or practice sessions, making it easier to maintain control without overexertion. A grip that is too small forces the player to squeeze the racket more tightly, increasing strain on the tendons and muscles in the forearm. This can lead to conditions like tennis elbow (lateral epicondylitis) or wrist injuries. Enlarging the grip to a more appropriate size can help distribute the force more evenly, reducing the risk of injury. Every player has different hand sizes. If a racket's original grip size is too small for your hand, enlarging it ensures a better fit. The right grip size allows you to play more comfortably, with the racket feeling more like a natural extension of your arm.
BUTT CAP REPLACEMENT
£15
The butt cap, located at the bottom of the racket handle, can wear out, crack, or break over time due to repeated impacts, general wear and tear, or mishandling.
A damaged butt cap can cause discomfort while holding the racket and may cause the grip to become loose or uneven. Some players replace the butt cap to customize the racket's weight and balance. For example, using a heavier or lighter butt cap can slightly alter the racket's balance, which can help fine-tune your racket to match your playing style. If the butt cap becomes loose, it can cause an annoying rattling sound or vibration while playing. This not only affects comfort but also disturbs concentration. Replacing a loose or ill-fitting butt cap ensures a snug, secure fit and eliminates rattling.
LEAD TAPE
£10
By experimenting with lead tape, players can optimize their racket for power, control, spin, or stability, creating a personalized playing experience.
BUMPER REPLACEMENT
£20
A bumper can only be replaced at the time of re-stringing
The bumper guard on a tennis racket is a plastic strip located along the top edge of the racket head. It serves to protect the racket frame from damage when it scrapes the ground during play, especially when hitting low shots or retrieving balls near the court surface.
Protection for the Frame: The bumper absorbs the impact and prevents the racket's frame from getting scratched, dented, or cracked, which could compromise the structural integrity of the racket over time. Maintaining Racket Weight Balance: The bumper adds weight to the head of the racket, and over time, a worn-down bumper can alter the balance of the racket. Replacing it restores the original weight and balance, ensuring consistent performance. String Protection: The bumper also helps protect the strings, particularly the ones near the top of the racket. If the bumper wears out, the strings can get exposed to more friction, increasing the chance of breakage.
