Cracked or Broken Padel Rackets

Every padel racket is designed to withstand normal play. However, padel rackets can be damaged by contact with the court, glass, fencing, net posts or another racket.

A cracked or broken racket is not automatically considered faulty. All claims must be assessed to establish whether the damage was caused by a manufacturing defect or by impact, misuse or normal wear.

12-Month Warranty

Padel rackets purchased from Nick Rivett Sport are covered by a 12-month warranty against manufacturing defects, beginning on the date of purchase.

The warranty applies when the racket:

  • Has been used normally and for its intended purpose.
  • Develops a fault caused by defective materials or workmanship.
  • Has not been subjected to impact, misuse, neglect or modification.

All warranty claims are subject to inspection and approval. In some cases, the racket or photographs may need to be sent to the manufacturer or UK distributor for assessment.

What May Be Covered

Examples of damage that may qualify as a manufacturing defect include:

  • A hairline fracture across the face without evidence of impact.
  • A single crack between the holes in the racket face.
  • A crack or structural failure with little or no surrounding wear.
  • A handle or internal structural fault without evidence of accidental damage.

Every claim is considered individually. The position of the crack alone does not confirm that the racket is faulty.

What Is Not Covered

The warranty does not cover:

  • Damage caused by hitting the court, glass, fencing, net post or another racket.
  • Cracks accompanied by dents, deep scratches, chips, flat spots or compression marks.
  • Multiple cracks or extensive face or frame damage consistent with impact.
  • Accidental damage, misuse, neglect or racket abuse.
  • Normal wear and tear, including surface scratches, paint chips and edge wear.
  • Damage caused by excessive heat, moisture or unsuitable storage.
  • Damage caused by unauthorised alterations or attempted repairs.
  • Replacement grips, overgrips, wrist straps or other components affected by normal wear.

Visible impact damage may invalidate the warranty claim.

How to Make a Warranty Claim

Please stop using the racket as soon as you notice a crack or structural problem. Continuing to play with it may worsen the damage and make it more difficult to establish the original cause.

Before returning the racket, please contact Nick Rivett Sport and provide:

  1. Your name and contact details.
  2. Your order number or proof of purchase.
  3. The date the racket was purchased.
  4. A clear description of when and how the damage appeared.
  5. An estimate of how frequently the racket has been used.
  6. Clear photographs showing:
    • The complete front of the racket.
    • The complete back of the racket.
    • The full edge and frame.
    • Close-up images of the crack or damaged area.
    • Any surrounding marks, scratches or signs of wear.

Please do not return the racket until our team has reviewed the information and provided return instructions.

Do not attempt to glue, repair, sand or alter the damaged area. Any attempted repair or modification may invalidate the warranty.

What Happens Next?

We will review the photographs and information supplied. We may then ask you to return the racket to Nick Rivett Sport for a physical inspection.

Where necessary, the claim will be referred to the manufacturer or UK distributor. Assessment times can vary, and we will keep you informed while a decision is being made.

If the racket is confirmed as having a manufacturing fault, the available resolution may be:

  • A repair.
  • A replacement.
  • Store credit.
  • A full or partial refund.

The appropriate resolution will depend on the age of the racket, availability of replacement stock, the manufacturer’s decision and your statutory rights. If the racket has been owned for more than six months, any refund may be reduced to reflect the use already received.

If the claim is rejected because the damage is consistent with impact, misuse or normal wear and tear, we will explain the outcome and arrange for the racket to be returned or collected.

This warranty policy does not affect your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
